Pastura

In the American West, a pasture is considered any area used for grazing. So "Pastura" is a fitting name for a town located in the middle of New Mexico's vast grazing land, on Hwy 54, 18 miles southwest of Santa Rosa. This inhabited community was founded in 1901 by employees of the SP Railroad and the Pastura Trading Company, owned by Charles Ilfeld Company of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
